Just want to give everyone a heads up that there is a new law related section of the Orlando Sentinel. The section is called “The Law & You.” The article today mainly reported on recent events in Central Florida.
A few of the events were:
– Dean Leticia Diaz of Barry University School of Law received the Outstanding Hispanic Female in the Legal Field Award at the Hispanic Women Who Make a Difference Awards Luncheon. Congratulations Dean Diaz!
– The Barry University Student Trial Advocacy Team were crowned national champions at the American Bar Association National Criminal Justice Competition in Chicago of March 29. Congratulations to Professor Mitch Frank, Professor Mark Summers, and the students!
– Our senior partner and injury board member Council “Butch” Wooten, Jr., was given the 2007 William Trickel, Jr. Professionalism Award by the Orange County Bar Association. This award recognizes an OCBA member who has practiced for more than 15 years and whose career displays unquestionable professionalism. In his acceptance speech he said, “The parties are contentious, the positions of the parties can be contentious, but the attorneys for the parties do not have to be.” Words to live by in our practice. Congratulations Butch!
A civil trial attorney with the firm Wooten, Kimbrough, Damaso & Dennis, P.A., Mr. Damaso concentrates on cases involving personal injury and wrongful deaths and solely represents individual victims and consumers. He takes his clients' cases personally and is committed to their best possible outcome. His strong sense of community has led to his support of numerous charities in the Orlando area.
