Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani has sued Duke University after getting kicked off of its golf team. In the federal lawsuit, Andrew alleges Duke violated its obligations to him as a student athlete. He seeks to be allowed to use Duke’s state of the art training facility. According to Giuliani, the new coach of the team unilaterally decided to kick him off the team because of somewhat questionable, yet negligible, behavior. What seems to be funny about this is that the young Giuliani is going to the courts for protection when his father, when running for the Presidency, criticized American Society as being overly litigious. However, again, when that person (or a member of their family) feels they have been deprived of justice they are the first to file a lawsuit. Giuliani, of course, also once sued gun manufacturers while mayor or New York City. I guess the only lawsuits that shouldn’t be filed are the ones filed by other people. Maybe they just want to keep the access to the courts to themselves. After all, getting severely injured because of the negligence of another is not as important as having use of a free driving range.
