A bonfire vigil was held in Bradenton on December 27 for teens killed in a car accident, according to MyFoxTampa.com. Hundreds gathered to pay their respects to Brett Wagner , 18, and Joshua Rogers, 18, who died on December 25 on State Route 64.

The two were seniors at Lakewood Ranch High School. Neither was wearing safety belts at the time, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Wagner’s cousin was also riding in the vehicle at the time of the accident, he was wearing a safety belt and survived with minor injuries.

“They left a piece of themselves in our memories because of their smiles, their personalities and laughter,” said Pastor Lynn Howell of Myakka City Worship Center. “And we will always remember Josh and Brett as two of the finest young men we’ve ever known.”
