Many of Florida’s intersections and roadways now have video cameras monitoring traffic throughout the day. In addition to the highly-traveled roads in Florida such as I-4, I-95 and I-75, there are cameras at the toll booths on virtually all toll roads in Florida. These video cameras can provide a first-hand view of the entire sequence of a collision, illustrating the traffic pattern prior to a collision, the collision itself, and the movement of the vehicles after collision.
Video camera footage has played an important part in a number of cases handled by our firm. The video tape can be obtained through the Florida Department of Transportation and usually can be obtained within 30 days of a collision.
