In non final report on the deadly I-4 crash in January the Florida Highway Patrol has blamed the crash on nine drivers cited for driving carelessly by driving too closely and without due regard for the foggy conditions on the highway. Although the FHP investigation is not complete and will not be finished for several months, at this point FHP blames fog and not smoke from a nearby controlled burn as the cause of the reduced visibility on the road at the time of the crash. The diagram of the tragic trucking accident is illustrated on the report as the events are interpreted by FHP.
