A 47 year-old semi driver from St. Petersburg was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and reckless driving when he lost control of his tractor trailer near Wilkesboro NC last Friday. A St. Petersburg couple in their 60’s and their friend who live part of the year in Ashe County NC were killed when the semi turned over and crashed into the couple’s Cheverolet Avalanche truck. Two other fatal accidents were reported in the same county on Friday; one is suspected to involve alcohol and the other a driver falling asleep.
