Advanced Medical Optics of Santa Ana California, the manufacturer of AMO Complete Moisture Plus Multi-Purpose Solution, has withdrawn its contact lens solution from the market after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention linked the solution to 138 cases of eye infection involving Acanthamoeba keratitis.    The acanthamoeba infection presents symptoms such as red eyes, eye pain, excessive tearing, a feeling that a foreign object is in the eye, and blurry vision.  If left untreated the acanthamoeba keratitis can lead to eye removal or blindness.
