A construction crane fell 30 floors and crashed through the roof of a house being used as the construction office of a highrise condo in Miami, killing two men. One was a 59 year-old insurance company inspector; the other was an employee of the construction company who was only 29. Four other employees were hospitalized.
The height of the crane was being raised so that it could extend further when a portion came crashing to the ground. Police dogs were used to search the area to make certain there were no other victims.
Last month a crane twenty stories tall fell in New York City and took the lives of 7 people, many of whom lived in the apartment building next door.
With so much construction going on in downtown Orlando, it makes you wonder if those cranes are being inspected regularly.
