According to sources, a potentially harmful frozen egg product has been recalled and officials are warning the public to not consume it. American Egg Products of Blackshear, Georgia recalled five-pound cartons of the frozen egg product after they learned it may be contaminated with salmonella, according to Reuters.
On a statement they sent to the Food & Drug Administration they say the product code number is 272-1 and was distributed in Georgia and Florida. Salmonella can cause serious illness and has been known to cause fatalities as well. The FDA and American Egg are investigating what caused the contamination.
