A male tourist suffered an eye injury while riding Dragon Challenge roller coaster at the Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios. Local reports confirm that Carlos Montalvo was riding in the front row of the roller coaster when something hit him in the eye.

A spokesman for Universal Studios said that nothing abnormal was found on the ride after  thorough inspection. Universal Studios shut down the Dragon Challenge roller coaster after the man was injured and possibly blinded. The spokesperson said the theme park had promised to do what it can to help the family and that nothing there have been no similar tourist injuries on this ride since its opening in 1999. Montalvo’s family had been on vacation from Puerto Rico but called the visit to the theme park a “nightmare.”

Montalvo says he was in the front row of the ride when something hit him in the right eye. He is not sure what hit him, but said it happened just as the two coasters veered near each other. He rode screaming and wounded until the ride came to its stop. The injured man’s brother said that Montalvo already had a bad left eye, but fears that the theme park injury may have taken his brother’s remaining good eye.
