A work truck hauling a trailer with a cleaning product with chlorine and two cars crashed on the Florida Turnpike at about 12:20 on Sunday. The cleaning solution in the trailer caught fire and destroyed the work truck and the two cars. The burning vehicles then caused an additional 11-car accident which shut down the northbound lanes for hours. FHP shut down the southbound lanes as well for a short time for fear of additional explosions.
Although there were some severe injuries, none of them appeared to be life threatening.
