Allstate Insurance has ranked three Florida cities as the top three in their “Teen Driving Hotspots”rankings in teenage auto accident fatalities. These rankings are the result of Allstate’s study of teenage accident statistics from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA), Allstate’s own claims statistics, and U.S. census data. The results show Tampa/St.Pete/Clearwater, Orlando/Kissimmee and Jacksonville as top thee deadliest cities for teenage car crashes.
The release of this study precedes Allstate’s campaign to decrease the number of teenage auto accidents with the slogan “Action Against Distraction.” This program highlights the need for a national graduated drivers license program, better driver training for teenagers and the importance of stressing the dangers of texting and talking on cell phones while driving.
