Disney’s Magic Kingdom tourists went on a nightmarish ride when they were stranded on Pirates of the Caribbean attraction for nearly two hours. Guests of the Happiest Place on Earth were stuck while riding the attraction at the Magic Kingdom park in Florida at about 10:30 PM. The ride stopped and Disney officials said the delay was so lengthy because staff first attempted to start the ride automatically and when that failed, a manual restart was required.

No injuries were reported, it was not immediately clear where the ride stopped.

While the ride itself stopped, the animatronic pirates did not. They continued signing for fifteen minutes until a Disney crew member had the foresight to make them stop singing. As if being stranded was not bad enough, the tourists could have endured two hours of non-stop singing by creepy looking pirates.

In 2001, a woman was injured when she fell and struck her head on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The woman’s boat lurched forward suddenly as she was exiting the ride. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was treated for head, neck and concussion injuries. The accident was found to be the fault of a ride operator. Investigators found that the boat which the woman was riding stopped prematurely, causing her to fall and strike her head.

Mr. Wooten's law firm is well known for handling cases against the Orlando area theme parks. Legal liability cases against Disney and other theme parks are very specialized and difficult cases because of the aggressive defense tactics of the theme parks.

I just heard today by a physician that was at the scene that there was a death within the past 6 weeks on the Pirates ride. Something came loose and struck someone who was sitting. Have you heard of this?
