Takata Airbags are in the news again as another car model has been added to the plethora of vehicles that contain the potentially dangerous and defective Takata airbags. These airbags have been known to degrade over time due to moisture causing them to unexpectedly self deploy shooting shrapnel into the passenger compartment. So far, Takata Airbag’s have been linked to eight deaths and hundreds of injuries.

According to Automotive News, the 2008-2010 Dodge Challenger is now being added to the list of recalled vehicles. The Challenger is being recalled to repair the diver’s side airbag, which is manufactured by Takata. The National Highway and Traffic Administration estimates that more than 88,000 Dodge Challenger’s would fall within the range of manufactured vehicles that would need to be brought in for service. These 88,000 vehicles now join a group of more than 32 million vehicles that have been recalled, spanning back more than a decade. At Wooten Kimbrough, P.A. we have dealt with many cases involving defective products and are familiar with the devastating injuries these product can cause.
