Students Save School Bus from Major Accident

Comments Off

Mariah Hutchinson and Joshua Cosme are heroes at Celebration High School today. They saved their bus from going off the ramp to I-4 when the bus driver had what appeared to be a heart attack. When the bus driver fell over, the bus drifted off the road and bounced off the guard rail several times. Hutchinson managed to grab the wheel to steer the bus while Cosme pulled the emergency break, bringing the bus to a stop. A third student helped the driver until help could arrive. Both Hutchinson and Cosme were taken to Celebration Hospital for minor injuries they received when the bus came to an abrupt stop. The bus driver was also taken to Celebration Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Congratulations to both Mariah and Joshua for reacting quickly to what must have been a frightening situation!
