Another Tragic Loss of Life In Auto Accident

Comments Off

Two days ago we posted a blog entitled: "How Safe is Your Car in an Auto Accident?" In that blog we observed that death rates were highest in small vehicles and that SUV’s caused high death rates in other vehicles they collide with. The point being that smaller the vehicle the less safe it is and that large trucks and SUV’s are more dangerous to other vehicle occupants. Today, tragically, this point was shown in the death of a young woman killed in car accident. She was only 21. She was killed when her Hyundai Sonata was hit by the Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep’s driver received minor injuries.
Once again we see that the death occurred in a light vehicle, the Hyundai Sonata and that the SUV (here a Jeep) was dangerous to the occupants of the other vehicle. The moral of the story is if want to be safer in a car crash, get a heavier vehicle. If you want to be safer and cause less harm to others, get a large passenger vehicle not a truck or SUV.
