Tougher Texting & Driving Bills Introduced in Florida Legislature

Six bills were introduced in the Florida House and Senate this legislative session to place tougher regulations on texting while driving. Two sets of bills double the fines for texting while in a school zone, while one set actually make the offense primary. Florida is in the minority of states that make it only a secondary offense, meaning you must also commit another traffic violation to be cited. Read about the introduced bills.

Uber/Lyft Update: House Bill 509 to regulate insurance coverage

The Florida House Economic Affairs Committee passed a bill that will head to the Florida House floor for a vote on creating state-wide regulations on ride-share companies like Uber and Lyft. The bill provides minimum insurance coverage requirements and ends local regulation.
